Really busy on the music tip! News on CoCoa, ADM, K-Maculate and Black and Blue Ink., and Less, and of course, this week's Production Vault update! =]

.: Quick News Tidbits :.

This week was very busy on the music tip.

  • Cocoa - Submitted three demos: two originals and one cover; one of which will become Cocoa's contribution to Roll Call '10. We're currently working on a good recording of one of the original recordings and doing a complete production job on it. An alpha was done recently with backing strings via Project SAM Symphobia, which never fails. More on that as things progress.
  • Less - We've selected a beat for his contribution to Roll Call '10 and after some brushing up have started working on it. It'll be a sequel to Handle Our Biz, somewhat.
  • K-Maculate/BBI - After finishing up a new beat, we've started working on the next BBI song that's going on the new album, "The Lyricist Manifesto." This one's more like MooN ShynE's classical sampling style, and hits real hard without sacrificing melody. Also, make sure to check out K-Maculate's blog entry on both the Black and Blue Ink. Blog and the MsP Blog for more details about the forthcoming album.
  • ADM - More work was done on the Casa de Luna mash-up between MooN ShynE and ADM, and a big focal point will be the use of LFO's, which is common practice in electronic songs but we haven't put it into practice. We're looking into using the LFO's a little bit more creatively now that we've learned different ways to manipulate the sound with it. More on that as the project progresses.

For fans of Neptunes production (Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo), we have this drum kit in the vault. This kit has very hard and bassy kicks, with unique snare sounds and percussion. Some of these have been processed through different effects to match what you would tend to hear from a Neptunes beat.

Although lighter than the last few kits, this one still has more than 400 drum samples for you to mess around with.

Thanks to Bully Beats for giving me half of the drums in this kit! For those who haven't heard of Bully Beats, he has had production credits with Panjabi MC (of Beware of the Boys [Mundian To Bach Ke] with Jay-Z fame) and D-Block affiliates.
