This very versatile VSTi has got a ton of great sounds that can help you out with your projects. Since the product is fully discontinued and is not available anywhere anymore for purchase, I’ve put it up in the vault to allow those who are need of a versatile VSTi to grab this one for free.
My personal favorites in this particular VSTi are the Brass and Orchestral presets. The Orchestral side has Spicatto strings that sound pretty realistic in terms of how they sound when the player brings the bow upward or downward.
For an example of the spicatto strings and the brass (particularly the French Horns in this song) you can listen to Black and Blue Ink.’s song Insurgency.
This week we have a nice drum kit and two organ VSTi’s. =D
Producer J. Mack has contributed a drum kit to the vault this week. J. Mack’s got production credits with Petey Pablo, Chopper Young City, Mia-X, C-Murder, and Don Trip (who recently signed with Cool and Dre). This particular kit has a focus on the Southern sound, mostly 808 style drums as well as some instrument sounds and synths.
You can check out J. Mack’s site at http://jmackmusic.com/ for more info on his beats and purchasing/leasing options.
In addition, I’ve included two organ .dll based VSTi’s. One is a dedicated church organ, and the other is DirtBag, which has a quite a few presets for different organs, like Hammond and Rhodes.
Head on out to our Production Vault and get the kit and VSTi’s today!

This week we have a useful app for you boom-bap producers. =D
If you can’t afford turntables, or can’t get your record on vinyl to scratch, and you need to scratch vocals, this is the app for you. Courtesy of the good folks at AnalogX,this app allows you to load in 2 mono .wav files (one for looping, one for scratching). You can then record one or the other or both. You scratch by clicking and dragging your mouse on the wave shown playing on the interface. Once you’ve recorded your scratches (they come out in .wav format), you can do with them as you wish at that point.
This has been one of the most helpful apps for me, because I’m a big Premo fan, so whenever I needed scratches this was my goto app; free and works perfectly.
Boom-bap producers who can’t afford turntables, your welcome. =]
For an example, you can check out the most recent Black and Blue Ink. song we did, Wordsmiths. The scratch of my boy Flight’s vocals were done in this app.
Vincent, Timmy Titus and I recorded this track for our good friends at the United Five clothing line (http://www.united-five.com). It’s now the official theme for United Five.
If you like what you hear, make sure you like this blog entry, and also make sure you are a fan (or nowadays make sure you “like”) this song which is also on the MooN ShynE Facebook Fan Page which you can be a fan of as well. Of course, while you’re at it, make sure you guys like the Vincent Facebook Fan Page and the Timmy Titus Facebook Fan Page to show your support!
Here’s Vincent, D-Ran a.k.a. Timmy Tidus, and I performing at the Coffee Cave in Newark, New Jersey this past Saturday (July 24, 2010). It was a Black Flag Shoppe event called “NJ HAS IT.” Vincent had a 15 minute set, and in the middle we did this cut. It’s the United Five theme for the clothing label, who also gave me the Biggie Babe t-shirt that I’m rockin in this vid. You can check their stuff out at http://www.united-five.com.
Also, for the latest trends in hip-hop wear from current and up and coming brands, make sure you check out http://blackflagshoppe.blogspot.com/ to check out the Black Flag Shoppe’s official site. You can also visit their store at 244 Lakeview Ave in Clifton, New Jersey.
